The same old black background has been removed from notification bar. The blue colored status icons have been changed to white in order to read easily. Google’s Dan Sandler said, “Aesthetic concerns definitely factored into this (as has been mentioned elsewhere, a more neutral SystemUI allows apps to manage their own color palettes a bit better), but also keep in mind that with the new translucent bars feature, the color became a usability problem. Good old spam links doesn’t pop as well on top of random wallpapers, even with the background protection.” 2. Performance Aspect: The services in Google can now be accessed with great ease. The user can receive timely email alerts, courier confirmations, weather forecasts, etc… speedily. One of the key objectives of Kit Kat 4.4 was to run smoothly on 512 MB RAM Smart Phones. Nexus 5 runs really smooth by Kit Kat 4.4 OS. The Kit Kat 4.4 functionality is way better than the Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich versions. At times, the OS tends to become jerky and rigid. But it is way lesser than the previous versions. 3. Imaging and Video Capture Mode: The imaging and video functionality is the same as in the previous versions. This proved to be disappointing for the Android OS users as the camera took way long in starting up. It takes a very long time in booting up. The great thing about this is that Google is soon going to launch an update about this problem area which will give a great experience to the users.
