However, Samsung also followed its trend of plastic framed body which is also included in Samsung Galaxy S5. The rear area of this phone has a dimpled texture which allows the user to make the grip. S5 will be available in white, blue, copper and black color. Talking about the weight aspect, HTC One M8 is obviously heavier than S5 at a weight of 160 grams. Samsung weighing at 145 grams is very light in handling. HTC One M8 is superior to S5 with respect to dimension. It measures 146 x 70 x 9.4 mm which makes it thick and taller than S5 at 142 x 72 x 8.1 mm. 2. Screen: S5 beats HTC One M8 with the size of its screen. S5’s screen size is 5.1 inches while that of HTC One M8 is 5 inches. Though HTC One M8 has a superior screen than the 2013 models yet it is beaten by S5 here. The screen of both the phones has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects the screen from scrapes and scratches. 3. Processor: Both HTC One M8 and Galaxy S5 run on the same processor namely Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 which the fastest and latest processor till now. This processor runs at a speed of 2.3GHz in HTC One M8 while in Samsung Galaxy S5 is runs at 2.5 GHz. Hence, the processing speed will be faster in Galaxy S5 than in HTC One M8. 4. Memory: HTC and Samsung consider 2GB RAM to be ideal for a flagship brand. Hence they will also follow the same trend by including a 2GB RAM in both HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5. 5. Storage: Samsung took the advantage over HTC by providing its smartphones with MicroSD card slot. But now, HTC bridged this gap by including the expandable storage features in this HTC one M8. Both HTC One M8 and Galaxy S5 will be equipped with an expandable memory slot. Both these phones will support the maximum capacity slot of 128 GB MicroSD cards. However, both these handsets will come with a 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage option.
